Street Luge
Street luge is a form of downhill skateboarding taken to the extreme and is very popular in the USA.
Very high speed!
The riders wear helmets and leathers, like you would if you were racing super bikes, and they lay down on the board feet first. Many crashes, many broken bones, many crazy people.
If you're thinking of taking up street luge be prepared for a struggle. It isn't as popular in the UK as the USA.
It began in California in the 70s by skateboarders who discovered that they could reach faster speeds by laying down on the board. As the years passed the boards evolved. Now they consist of a 7ft long board with cupped sides and feet rests. Oh yeah, and no breaks! Sound fun?
A street luge can reach speeds of up to 70mph so safety equipment is a must. We are unable to find out prices for Luges and equipment in the UK as it isn't that popular. But if you're looking for something abit different that will make you look totally off your loaf but brave and skilled at the same time, then you might have found it. We have listed the equipment that you will need below but with no prices.
