Inline skating is also known as rollerblading or aggressive skating. This is basically concrete ice skating. There are many forms of inline such as downhill, vert, street (free skate). The tricks mainly used are a lot of different grinds and grabs.

This is an inexpensive sport that keeps you mega fit.

Probably one of the least popular of the street sports. The reason for this is unknown as there are a massive variety of tricks to perform and it is quite easy to pick so progression on this extreme sport can be fast.

Downhill Skating/Slalom

Exactly as the title says. go down a big hill on the skates, and like slalom in skiing, go through the slalom gates. Luckily the skates have brakes - they are needed!
Not easy to bail out when the skates are strapped to you!

Vert

Tricks such as big airs, grabs and grinds can all be done on a vert ramp just like the ones used for BMX/skateboarding.

Street/Freestyle

The most popular of the different categories. Street/Freestyle can also be known as aggressive skating and involves the skater performing tricks off of, over and onto objects around cities and towns.

Cost and Equipment

Inline Skates  -  For the complete set of skates (wheels, boots and bearings) the cheapest start at around £40. If you want to take up the sport seriously we recommend spending no less than about £90.

Pads  -  Around £20. Don't think it isn't cool to wear pads. Some designs are uber cool and look much better than blood and bone!

Helmet  -  Around £25.
