Zorbing with Southdown Adventure Review

Take a big hill, a big inflatable ball, one or two crazy people, put them all together and you have Zorbing (or Sphering as it is also known). One or two people get in the ball (which is like a giant hamster ball) and are pushed down a large hill until they feel sick.

Sound like fun?

A great fun, easy and inexpensive activity to do; zorbing is becoming more and more popular across the UK. It was first invented in New Zealand and the activity is now rapidly catching on in the UK.

There are a few types of zorbing.
  • Pushed down a big ass hill with one or two people in. Sometimes water is added too for a washing machine effect (can also help to wash off the vomit!).
  • Aqua Zorbing - running over a lake in the ball.
  • Running over a course.

Where

Due to the growing popularity, sites are dotted all round the country. Check out the link for your nearest zorbing site.

Cost and Equipment

Activity Day  -  This isn't a full day. The Zorbing ride only lasts about one to two minutes and you will be at the site for about 45 minutes. This will cost you a very reasonable £35 for two people for the regular 'pushed down a hill' type of ride.

Zorbs  -  Funnily enough the only equipment that is used, plus a few harnesses to stop riders flying out of the Zorb like rag dolls!
